Heidie Ganjineh Hutchinson, MSIS

Heidie Ganjineh Hutchinson over 35 years of experience as a Professor of Information Technology, Technology Director, and IT Consultant in academic institutions and businesses entities in Pittsburgh, PA area.

 

Heidie co-founded Information Management Associates, in 1982 and was engaged as a systems analyst in developing information systems for small businesses. In 1985, as a professor, she founded the Computer Information Systems/Telecommunications department at the Community College of Beaver County and developed the entire curricula for the two IT degree programs offered through this department (Information Sciences, and Telecommunications). 

The department became one of the first centers for IT training in Western PA and was generously funded by state and federal governments, for retraining of the thousands of IT students, especially during the retraining of steel mill workers who had lost their jobs in the 80s and early 90s.

Heidie also, severed as a faculty at the "Computer Learning Center", School of General Studies, University of Pittsburgh, Pgh, PA. The Computer Learning Center provided computer education and training since 1984. The center offered hands-on courses in software productivity tools, programming, networking, and Internet topics, as well as certificate programs in business software, web design and authoring, and database development. In addition to individual instruction in its state-of-the-art classrooms, the center also offered on-site group training to employees of businesses.

During the last 15 years of her career as an IT professor and consultant, Heidie was engaged in the developed IT teaching/learning software tools such as CKAT (Computer Knowledge Assessment Test), OCSAT (Online Course Skill Assessment Test), and MWADE (Mobile Web App Development Environment) which were presented at the national and international academic conferences and were well-received by her colleagues.

 

She developed the entire lecture material for Electronic Engineering Fundamentals, a graduate-level Telecom course offered through the University of Pittsburgh. She also was the chief curriculum developer for SpeakFarsi (a web-based intelligent tutoring software to teach and learn the Persian Language) marketed through Carnegie Speech (an AI software development company) in Pittsburgh, PA.

Heidie holds a BA in Translation from Farah University (Al Zahra University), MS in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh, and has completed numerous postmaster’s courses in Certificate of Advanced Studies in Information Science and Telecommunications at the University of Pittsburgh.

Heidie has received several awards: Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (2000), Who’s Who Historical Society (2003), NISOD Excellence Award (2004), Montclair Who's Who in Collegiate Faculty (2011), NISOD Master Presenter (2003 and 2013).
