Overview of Curriculum Development

Given my years of teaching and curriculum development at other educational institutions as well as my IT consulting and user training in businesses, I was asked by my immediate supervisor, when I was hired at CCBC in 1985, to revise the Data Processing curriculum to include the latest advances in computer training at that time.

In order to prepare CCBC students with the latest IT skills necessary to find IT jobs, I have, since 1985 up to present:

  • Developed 4 different new curricula

  • Revised 2 different existing curricula

  • Codeveloped of 2 different new curricula

  • Corevised of 5 different existing curricula

  • Developed 37 new curses

  • Revised 20 existing courses

I would like to mention that the new "Networking" curriculum that I developed to be offered starting in academic year 2001-2002 created a new faculty position in the Technology Division. This new position was filled by Drew Campblell, who had experience in Cisco networking.

Also, the new "Computer Forensics" curriculum that I developed to be offered in starting Academic Year 2005-2006 created another new faculty position in the Technology Division, in computer hardware and operating systems. That position is currently held by Carl Dennis, CCBC Cyber Security (formerly Computer Forensics).

The following highlighted items are links to the detailed information and the summary information about the new curricula and curriculum revisions that I have been involved with at CCB:
