Secretary of SOF (Society of Faculty):

I was nominated and elected as the Secretary of Society of Faculty for 6 consecutive years, 2005-2011. As the secretary of SOF, I was responsible for keeping members' information updated, arranging for SOF members' meetings, etc.

As a member of SOF Executive Committee, I participated in planning how to best resolve conflicts/problems between Society of Faculty and CCBC Administration, within the framework of CCBC's institutional policies/procedures.

CCBC and SOF Contract Negotiation Team:

I was selected by the Society of Faculty to become a member of the SOF negotiation team to represent CCBC faculty during the negotiations for the September 1, 2007 to Aug 31, 2011 contract between Society of Faculty and Community College of Beaver County.

Academic advising, health care insurance, life insurance, salaries, overload pays, tenure, and class scheduling were among the issues that required research and discussions in order to arrive at a to resolutions which could be agreed upon between SOF and CCBC.
