Curriculum Development, Years 2005 Through 2009
 

New Curriculum: The "Computer Forensics" Track of Computer Information Systems/Telecom:

This new curriculum was offered from academic year 2005-2006 through academic year 2008-2009. The curriculum included development of 4 new courses. I was responsible for the development of all 4 of these new courses.

This new curriculum lead to creation of new a full-time CIS/Telecom faculty position. The position is currently held by Carl Dennis, who has training and job experience in computer hardware and computer operating systems.

This curriculum provided the students with training and skills in:

  • PC hardware and operating systems

  • Network security and and data recovery

  • Cyber crime and investigation using investigative software

  • Collections and analysis of computer based evidences for presentation in a court of law

Revised Curriculum: The "Networking" Track of Computer Information Systems/Telecom:

This revised curriculum was offered from academic year 2005-2006 through academic year 2008-2009. The curriculum included development of 4 new courses, and 3 revised courses. I was responsible for the development of all of 4 of the new courses and revisions of all 3 of the revised courses.

This curriculum provided the students with training and skills in:

  • Creating computer networks using Windows as the Client and Server operating systems

  • Pc hardware, upgrades, and trouble shooting

  • creating and maintaining networks using Cisco networking technology

  • The training necessary for industry standard certifications: A+, Network+, etc.

Revised Curriculum: The "Web Programming" Track of Computer Information Systems/Telecom (2005-2006)

This was a revision to the Web Master Track of CIS/Telecom curriculum, providing a new curriculum title and minor revisions. The curriculum was offered from academic year 2005-2006 through academic year 2006-2007. This curriculum included revision of the title and and 2 courses. I was responsible for the title change and the revisions to both courses.

This curriculum provided the students with training and skills in:

  • Using computer aided instruction software (SAM) to teaches software productivity tools

  • Internet and the World Wide Web concepts and usage

  • Creating web pages using FrontPage as web software tool

  • Using Microsoft Office as software productivity tools used in offices in business

  • Web application development using Java as the language

  • Creating web applications using web languages and software tools (HTML, JavaScript, ASP, JSP) and database management systems

  • Analyzing, designing, and developing E-Commerce applications

Revised Curriculum: The "Web Programming" Track of Computer Information Systems/Telecom (2007-2008)

This was a revision to the Web Programming Track of CIS/Telecom curriculum. The curriculum was offered from academic year 2007-2008 through academic academic year 2009-2010. This curriculum included development of 1 new course and 6 course revisions. I was responsible for the revision of 4 of the 6 courses.

Standardization across sections of CIST100 Intro to Information Technology was introduced in this curriculum revision.

 

This curriculum provided the students with training and skills in:

  • Creating web pages using FrontPage and Dreamweaver as web software tools

  • Using Microsoft Office as software productivity tool used in offices in business

  • Programming in Java language

  • Programming is C#

  • Creating web applications using web languages and software tools (HTML, JavaScript, ASP, JSP) and database management systems

  • Analyzing, designing, and developing E-Commerce applications
